Telecommuting Research Associate, Intellerati in New York
The Good Search is seeking a telecommuting Research Associate to join our newly spun-out research division Intellerati. We are seeking an exceptionally bright, driven sourcing professional to apprentice with one of the leading executive search and human capital intelligence practices in the country. The Associate will conduct talent acquisition research and intelligence ranging from identifying, profiling, screening, and qualifying candidates to mapping and building out org charts to conducting industry studies gleaning competitive insights from the talent ecosystem. The role offers the opportunity for significant advancement.
LOCATION
While we prefer candidates in Fairfield County, CT/Greater New York City area so that we can meet in person as required, we are open to consider talent based anywhere in the US. The role is a telecommuting one and, as such, offers unparalleled work/life balance.
OUR APPROACH:
Online Sourcing:We work hard to find our clients the talent they need. (In fact, not finding the perfect candidate occasionally keeps us up at night.) So we expect the best from ourselves and each other. We do a lot of online research and data entry, rapidly entering, updating and cleaning data as we go. In fact, we find the work strangely meditative, like working to fill in the missing pieces in a gigantic data jigsaw puzzle as we map talent at companies, building org charts reporting-relationship-by-reporting-relationship.
Phone Sourcing:The work also involves phone research and so you actually have to like picking up the phone and talking to people. We do it to cultivate our sources, gather referrals and insights, and find the shortest path to the best information. We have a strong passion -- if not obsession -- for the world of business and serve employers in media/entertainment, technology as well as portfolio companies of venture capital and private equity firms. We have a stated "goodness" ethos, so you have to care about the candidate, about the client, and about your team because you believe you can make a real difference. (No jerks allowed.) In fact, we actually believe we can help make the world a better place -- one hire at a time.
Our Company: The Good Search (TGS) recruits senior executive and mission critical talent for companies based in the U.S. Its elite research division Intellerati offers research in support of corporate recruiting teams. Founded by an award-winning investigative journalist, TGS's research-driven investigative approach yields better results than traditional retained and contingency search firm models. TGS has been in business for more than a decade and over that period of time, the firm has served some of the most powerful and successful corporations in the world in a wide range of industries from media and advertising to technology and telecommunications to financial services and management consulting.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Manager of Research Operations to develop and execute investigative, strategic research strategies.
* Conduct recruiting research that includes identifying, profiling and, as needed, recruiting and screening candidates for search engagements.
* Conduct rapid, efficient, and accurate data entry. Write candidate biographies. Attach candidate profile photos. Clean and update database information as you work to keep it as accurate as possible.
* Map target organizations as you work, locating and quantifying available pools of talent with required skill sets. Check for holes in the research to ensure identification of every available candidate.
* Conduct investigative research focused on the talent ecosystem. Write research reports, summarizing findings, detailing the information sought as well as intelligence gleaned through analysis of that information.
* Leverage software tools and research techniques to uncover top candidates others miss.
* Capture relevant business news and develop market intelligence to share with our team and, in turn, our client.
* Track and communicate individual metrics as measured against stated goals. Take ownership of successful outcome.
* Maintain positive relationship with TGS team.
Requirements:
*Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
*Recruiting and sourcing experience. AIRS certifications preferred.
*Relevant investigative research expertise from working in business intelligence, marketing, journalism, competitive intelligence, information or library science.
*Strong writing and communication skills.
* Must be computer literate and show a demonstrated interest in leveraging the latest software tools for research. Internet savvy a must. Fluent in Internet search.
