Interim HR Advisor - Retail - Newcastle
This national retail organisation is seeking to appoint on an interim basis for approximately 6 months an experienced HR Advisor / HR Officer to work with the regional HR Business Partner on all matters relating to HR to ensure a professional service is provided to the business.
You will be based in central Newcastle responsible for a region encompassing the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Scotland.
The key elements of this role will include
Employee Relations
* Work closely with the HR Business Partner for region on all HR matters for the region.
* Manage, coach and advise the Regional Director, District Managers and Store Managers through performance management, team and employee relations issues.
* Fully competent in the management of Grievance, Appeal and Disciplinary processes.
* Provide solution focused HR advice for all HR enquiries.
* Delivery of HR projects for the company, in line with business and performance objectives.
* Advise and work with District Managers to manage the store closure programme.
* Liaise with Employment Law provider regarding complex legal matters / advise of new Policies and Procedures.
* Manage and deliver diversity workshops to regional employees.
* Act as a company witness as required.
* Management of all long term sick matters in the region including liaison with GPs and Occupational health advisors.
* Support with ad hoc employee relations issues, customer complaints, concerns regarding injuries sustained at work and risk department issues as needed.
Recruitment & Resourcing
* To work alongside District Managers and support them in the recruitment of Store management vacancies.
* Coaching and assisting line managers through the interview process including attendance at Assessment Centres.
General duties
* Effective communication with the regional and HR team to implement strategy and avoid duplication of efforts.
* Work with the regional administration team to ensure employee files etc are regularly updated and reviewed.
Ideally you should be CIPD qualified / part-qualified and have a background within the retail or other high volume HR environment.
This role offers an immediate start for the successful candidate.
