HR Manager, Samuel Adams Pennsylvania Brewery (SAPB)
The Samuel Adams Pennsylvania Brewery is looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to run the HR function for the 240+​ person non-union brewery.​ The HR Manager is a highly visible and influential role as this person will be responsible for developing and leading key organizational change initiatives.​ Both strategic and tactical aspects of HR fall under this role.​ This position has a dual reporting relationship both to the Director of Brewery Operations in Lehigh as well as to the Director of Human Resources in the Boston office.​ Minimal travel is required.​
Responsibilities:
* Work with SAPB management team to develop and implement systems, processes and practices that supports a high performance work environment.​
* Support and guide the brewery leadership team and employees regarding HR programs and company policies.​
* Manage, develop and motivate the SAPB HR Department.​ Ensure that a mission of service is given the highest priority, is consistent with each member and that the solutions being provided are thorough and connected to company goals.​
* Build strong working relationships throughout the company and a customer service focused department to ensure that people want to seek out HR for help in working through organizational and people issues.​
* Manage the recruitment of talent to meet SAPB’s hiring goals and strategic initiatives.​
* Develop appropriate policies and programs for employee relations issues.​ Provide ongoing education around these issues.​
* Develop and lead organizational development initiatives to promote operational efficiency, effective succession planning and a high performance work environment that fosters engagement of employees at all levels.​
* Assess training & development needs at all levels and either provide or find the resources to meet those needs.​ Develop and facilitate training where appropriate.​
* Identify legal areas of risk within SAPB as it relates to the HR area.​ Ensure brewery compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.​g.​, FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA.​
Qualifications:
* BA/​BS degree is required with an advanced degree considered highly desirable.​
* Minimum of 10 years of HR generalist experience in a consumer product manufacturing environment with roles increasing in responsibility including a lead HR role.​ A minimum of 5 years of positive management experience.​
* Very strong preference for HR experience within the food and beverage industry.​
* A proven ability to lead and drive change in a manufacturing environment.​
* Experience in developing high performance work environments.​
* Employee relations experience within union and non-union environments.​
* Strong analytical and computer skills.​ A high level of proficiency in all MS Office products is required as well as knowledge and use of HRIS systems and reporting.​
* Managerial skills in budgeting as well as wage and salary administration.​
* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.​
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to all levels of management.​
* Ability to develop strong rapport and credibility with all management styles while effectively influencing people.​
* Ability to effectively influence other organizational leadership to support change initiatives.​
* A demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a plant leadership team.​
* A demonstrated ability for critical thinking.​
