The responsibilities and duties of the Manager of Human resources (West Coast) described here are representative of those an employee must perform. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the implementation of the company’s Human Resources function on the West Coast including employee relations, retention, benefit program, performance management process, strategies, programs and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
1.Contributes to and consistently applies Equinox’s policies and procedures by effectively working with all Equinox personnel without to regard to race, religion, age, national origin, gender, physical or mental disability.
2.Execute West Coast Human Resource strategies related to employee relations, retention, employee benefits, performance management, and the process improvement of day-to-day administration.
3.Collaborate with the VP, West Coast Operations and corporate team to determine the most effective policies and procedures, strategies, programs and services that best meet the needs of the organization.
4. Provide support to VP, West Coast Operations and Human Resource Director with the following: hiring/on-boarding, training and development, monitoring/evaluating performance, and initiating corrective action/discipline when necessary.
5.Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with General Managers to discuss/advise on people strategy and HR issues (i.e., policy/procedure, on-boarding, talent assessment, succession planning, training/development, employee relations, etc).
6.Conduct thorough investigations to ensure appropriate resolution of all employee issues and concerns.
7.Identify trends, and provide guidance to management at all levels to mitigate employee relations issues and promote a positive work culture. Ensures that the club’s operations are in compliance with company policies.
Other Specific Responsibilities & Duties
1.Partners with Operations and Human Resources (Corporate) to ensure execution and compliance with West Coast On-boarding, New Employee Orientation, Performance Management and Harassment Training.
2.Ensures implementation of California Vacation Tracking procedure (accrual metrics, tracking, effectiveness).
3.Ensures compliance with applicable Federal & State Laws, regulations and guidelines. Makes recommendations to Sr. Management.
4.Performs employee relations functions including employee issue resolution. Works proactively with Managers to mitigate future issues.
5.Consults with the VP, West Coast Operations and Director of Human Resources regarding strategic organizational and Human resources related issues.
6.Coordinates/conducts applicable management training programs.
7.Develops and evaluates plans for a variety of projects and activities and executes them through to completion.
8.Assists in the execution of the Company’s Performance Management and annual compensation process.
9.Collects and provides relevant HR data (both quantitative and qualitative) to the VP, West Coast Operations and Director of Human Resources.
10.Acts as point person for West Coast in resolving issues regarding payroll, employee information, benefits, employee referral, leaves, etc.
11.Keeps current in all Federal, State and local employment laws and communicates to relevant personnel.
12.Conducts new employee orientations.
13.Conducts in-person exit interviews for resignations in selected positions.
14.Helps to facilitate the provisioning process for new employees (e-mail, voicemail, system setup, etc).
15.Assists in the development and maintenance of the company’s ob descriptions.
16.Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following minimum qualifications:
1.Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in employee relations/generalist HR is required.
2.Bachelor degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
3.PHR/SPHR preferred.
4.Strong knowledge and application of California law.
